Please submit to firstname.lastname@example.org or the main office copies of the following documents if you are applying for repairs that require materials in addition to labor.
-Your 2015 income tax return. If you did not file taxes for 2015, please provide a letter, signed by you, that states you did not file taxes and the reasons why.
-Your last 2 paycheck stubs or other proof of income
-Your last 2 bank statements showing all checking, savings, and loan balances. If you do not have a bank account, please write that on your application.
-Proof of child support and/or public assistance (such as SSI, TANF, Social Security, disability, food stamps, etc.) if you receive them.
-Proof of home ownership (this may include the Deed of Trust or your most recent property tax receipt)

A Brush With Kindness
A Brush With Kindness helps low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes, allowing them to reclaim their homes with pride and dignity. ABWK works in conjunction with your affiliate’s core building program, enabling you to serve more families, increase opportunities for volunteers and expand your base of sponsors.
Most importantly, ABWK is part of Habitat’s broader community development strategy called the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative. NRI is designed to pursue Habitat for Humanity’s strategic imperative of helping to transform and strengthen communities so that those who reside in them will be able to live and grow into all that God intends for them. ABWK helps revitalize the appearance of the neighborhood, strengthens connections within the community and helps preserve affordable housing stock. The following illustration shows how ABWK fits as one of the components of Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative.
How It Works
ABWK is designed to be integrated into the organizational structure of your affiliate and supported by your board. In most cases, your current committee structure (Family Services, Volunteers, Construction, Resource Development, etc.) is sufficient to handle ABWK. Based on the size of the ABWK efforts, some affiliates have created subcommittees in each area to better organize the work and responsibilities of the program. ABWK serves families in need using Habitat’s basic tenets of eligibility: demonstrated need, willingness to partner and ability to pay.
